reliance standard processes:
Reliance Standard Presentations:
what we know so far
Basic life and AD&D (Policy # 166103):
Lower rates for life @ $0.050 and AD&D @ $0.010 (per $1,000)
No cost for value adds (travel assistance, beneficiary companion etc.) previously charged at $0.083 PEPM.
Coverage maximum, rate increments, age reduction remains the same.
Voluntary Life (Policy #166100)
voluntary AD&D (policy #210452):
Life insurance rates change for some age bands; lower life insurance rates for children; AD&D rates remain the same.
Current voluntary life coverage amounts will roll over.
True open enrollment. Everyone has another opportunity to purchase up to $200,000 in life insurance coverage without medical underwriting. CONFIRMED: True open enrollment each year. Everyone who already has $200,000 life insurance coverage can purchase additional $20,000 in coverage without medical underwriting during subsequent open enrollments.
Premiums changes due to age take effect on the policy anniversary following the date of birth (same as under the Symetra policy).
For example, an employee turns 50 on 8/26/2023: For all of 2023, the employee is charged the life insurance rate for age band 45-49; starting January 1, 2024, the employee is charged the life insurance rate for age band 50-54. This is how premium changes due to age are handled currently under the Symetra policy.
Long-term disability (policy # 134069):
Lower monthly rates for LTD Core plan @ $25.46; same rate for LTD Buy-up plan.
Plan design remains the same. Enrollments roll over.
Short-term Disability ASO:
Lower cost for the advice to pay contract @ $1.25 PEPM.
